Last time I did this was after the 2015 floods and it was amazing, I know we didnβt get nearly that much water this week but we got a decent amount.
Good morning everyone. I hope we all had a lovely weekend. Normally, I would focus on the futures in general but for the past 3-4 weeks I am more focused on the Nasdaq futures, which consists of over 60% growth/tech stocks. Even if the stocks we trade are not on the Nasdaq they are growth and the Nasdaq futures are much better indicator. 3 Weeks ago when we had a correction in the Nasdaq there was a divergence where the DOW, SP500 reached new highs while we suffered with growth. We have not really traded banks, high dividend stocks, and only a few times have done insuranceβ¦.. These are the plays we will focus on if we must go defensive. Buying on dips is not the optimal strategy. The best strategy is going defensive and after that has exhausted scoop tech/growth off lows. (Maybe we havenβt perfectly timed the lows) but we will have amazing gains on defense that will offset what we may have lost by not timing the absolute bottom.
Over the weekend I read the big news about Cathie Wood and ARKKβs new target on TSLA. I check the quotes on TSLA now and it is up over 20!! I mention this because last night I sent posts everywhere on NLS. I had a few comments from other boards saying that I am a pump and dump, try to manipulate stocks. I didnβt take offense to this and explained myself and told them to check history. However, I do not trade penny stocks, rarely OTC, rarely AMEX stocks. I very rarely trade stocks under 250 million market cap. So how Nathan from Queens (Not Cathie Wood), can cause GOCO 3.5 billion with 3-4 million volume, or WOOF with 7 billion cap and 5+ million volume to rise or fall because of me on Reddit/Tweetingβ¦. Is fascinating, I wish it were true. Now, if I had a reddit army and WSB would allow my posts I would agree somewhat, they have 9.5 million viewers however my posts never stay up more then 15-20 minutes no matter what stock I write aboutβ¦..I bet if I was bullish on GME or AMC it would, but I donβtβ¦β¦. A new green cryptocurrency called Chia (XCH) uses a less energy-intensive method of minting new coins, starts trading today Monday, May 3rd, 2021. It was created by Bram Cohen, the inventor of BitTorrent, and uses what's called "proofs of space and time" to "farm" rather than "mine" new coins. The model is a less energy-intensive method of producing digital assets compared to bitcoin's "proof of work" concept, which has led that currency to be criticized for using as much energy as some entire nations.
Chia and the company behind it, Chia Network, have already attracted significant attention from investors.
Chia Network boasts big-name backing from the likes of Andreessen Horowitz, Naval Ravikant, and Cypherpunk Holdings, according to data from Crunchbase. Chia Network also holds a strategic reserve of 21 million XCH, in a nod to bitcoin, that it will use to reduce the volatility of its coin and mitigate any potential crashes. Unlike many other cryptocurrency offerings, Chia has a formal company behind it, and they intend to go public.
"We hope to file and list our equity in the next six to 12 months," Gene Hoffman, the CEO and President of Chia Network told Decrypt.
Not only that, but Chia Network has also said it will embrace regulation because management has seen "scams and farces" in the space hurt investors.
